Day and Night

Its rainy and very dark today so Mike bought some headlights.

The light is especially necessary here.

The top corner fits perfectly though no one will really get a good view of it!

Top Shelf

Ferrucio uses clamps instead of his hand to hold down the stainless steal bars because they get very hot when cut.

They even melted the rubber!

You can peak outside between the beam and the wall.

And Mike can peak at us!

It's difficult but Mike finds a way to trowel behind the electrical conduit.

End of day 6!

Exit Through the Work Shop

We got new scaffolding today so we can finally start working at the very top.

We have to cut our mosaic to fit the iron clips attached to the top beam.

To make the wall an even surface for the mosaic, Mike has to put a skim coat of cement on the wall.

The door is always open but you can never leave!

Day 4

Alyson came by the site to check out her mosaic!

Nina and Ferrucio are peeling off the tape and doing any of the fixes that they find underneath.

Safety First

Our track safety course took everyone in the class on a field trip.

Nina, do not enter or cross tracks!

After passing the safety course, it's now time to start work!

We begin by installing a temporary bottom ledge for our mosaic since the floor is not poured yet.

Nina starts the day with an important phone call and a to do list.

Once the wood is removed, the mosaic will be sitting in a nice frame.

The wall needs lots of work before we can install, like chiseling and scraping down high spots and filling in holes and leveling with cement.
